Fantastic bouquet and palate, a complex and layered bouquet with a core of citrus fruits and autolysis, lemon and white peach, oven fresh oatmeal biscuits and brioche, honeysuckle and wet river stone mineral highlights. The mousse is equally rich in texture with a super fine satin textured bubble, a precise acid line carrying flavours of citrus and white fleshed fruits, an exotic richness and saline side contributing to a lengthy and complex finish. One glass is simply not enough.

This has to be the perfect aperitif, the bouquet is both pure and precise, it is seductive with complexity and depth. Aromas of citrus and fresh butter brioche, the autolysis intensity increases as the wine opens out in glass, complexity and fruit spice, flower, mineral and new. As the wine touches the palate the mousse delivers a rush of flavours wrapped is a precise and bold texture, carrying with it flavours of citrus and white peach, then breadth and depth from entreillage of at least 18 months. Can you tell this is one of my favourites?
95/100 | Cuvée No.1 NV | Cameron Douglas MS | November 2024
There’s no mistaking the subtle scents of light red berry fruits within a fine autolysis frame, there’s charm and complexity from a floral outline, as well as freshness and complexity. As the wine touches the palate a rush of mousse and bubble engage first carrying flavours of strawberry and cherry wrapped in a brioche and light oatmeal baked goods suggestions. Crisp and dry, there’s complexity and plenty of floral charms along with a fresh summer berry quality. A robust mousse that develops silky textures as the wine warms in glass and on the palate. Arguably the best Rosé from the Le Brun family and New Zealand - to date.
